Good food is a piece of quality of life. In the “Genießer Hotel Historischer Krug”, a world full of high enjoyment, tradition and loving details awaits you. See for yourself: Our kitchen team will spoil you with fresh seasonal and regional products according to all the rules of the art. 

Visit one of our two in-house restaurants. Either you experience the excellent gourmet restaurant “Privileg”, which offers variations of fine Nordic gourmet cuisine, or the rural restaurant “Krugwirtschaft”, with fresh, regional dishes. 
Our cuisine stands for very good quality at moderate prices. Not without pride we may mention that our restaurant “Krugwirtschaft” and our gourmet restaurant “Privileg” are among the best restaurants in Schleswig-Holstein, as various rankings prove. We have been presenting first-class cuisine for 40 years now. 35 years ago, Hans Hansen Mörck the former patron and the current patroness (Mrs. Lenka Hansen Mörck) invented the Schleswig Holstein Gourmet Festival.

Krugwirtschaft

In the Krugwirtschaft, guests experience delicious regional cuisine that is creatively and skilfully refined to gourmet standards. From the Oeverseer bacon soup to the mayor’s piece in white butter sauce to the Frisian rack of lamb, there is a variety of dishes that will enchant even the most refined palate. The special penchant for desserts and sweets can be felt in the Krugwirtschaft. You should by no means miss out on the fantastic desserts.
The rural ambience and the very good price-performance ratio round off the whole experience.

Privileg

A room with atmosphere, stylishly laid tables, upmarket, creative cuisine, exquisite wines and very personal service.  We spoil the eye and the palate in the “Privileg” and guarantee pure enjoyment! You can expect a world full of high enjoyment, tradition and loving details. You should not miss out on the creative desserts. 
We recommend that you let yourself be accompanied by our selected wine tour while enjoying your personal gourmet menu. Discover wines that harmonise perfectly with the dishes. We will be happy to serve these to you by the glass.

The Privileg menu shows the full diversity in the culinary art of our chef. At the moment the “Privileg” is closed.

Awards 2017 Gourmet Restaurant “Privileg”

In the elegantly furnished gourmet restaurant, the maitre d’ spoils up to 26 gourmands with German-Nordic high cuisine in the classical French sense.

A look at the history

In 1519 the Historic Jug was founded, in 1624 it became a postal station and received royal privileges.
In 1815, the current family acquired the Krug. In 1851 the Danish royal house confirmed the privileges.
In 1864, during the German-Danish War, the Krug became a field hospital for the International Red Cross. This was documented at the International Red Cross Headquarters in Geneva.
